Hezbollah Vows to Resist Israeli Advances Despite Ceasefire
Hezbollah said Saturday its fighters had confronted Israeli forces attempting to advance toward the Ali Taher hills overlooking Nabatieh overnight, describing the operation as an infiltration attempt carried out under the cover of the ceasefire that took effect Friday. The resistance movement said the ambush resulted in Israeli casualties, while affirming it remains committed to the ceasefire but will not tolerate attempts to seize or expand occupation of Lebanese territory.
Israeli strikes continued across southern Lebanon in the hours following the truce, killing at least 16 people including two children, according to Lebanese civil defense reports. Iran's Foreign Ministry condemned the violations and reiterated that Washington bears direct responsibility under the terms of the US-Iran memorandum of understanding, which stipulates that ending Israeli attacks on Lebanon is an inseparable condition of any broader agreement.
Since the start of Israel's latest offensive, Lebanese authorities report 3,980 people killed, more than 12,000 wounded, and over one million displaced.
